Chapter 5: Growing Old

Hey its jack again with another update. lets get cracking.

We bought a toy oven, James loved it! i think he might become a chef like his daddy. 😀 he can already bake pies! he’s more or less feeding the family now, he is so into it. hmm… hope we don’t get fat.

Jeremy wanted a dollhouse,  goodness knows why. James was apprehensive at playing with a “girls toy” but soon joined in when he saw the fun Jeremy was having. though James still preferred the toy-box. Shortly after we got the dollhouse, i got a §22 an hour raise! now i earn §204 and hour 😀 i’m close to getting another promotion too! also Malcom LandGraab seems to have fallen on tough times, he is a vegtable slicer at work. he still has the mansion though.

NOOOOO!!! IM OLD! EWWW! i’m all wrinkly and saggy! … … oh my god!! my hair! It’s grey!! oh come on its not that bad, its not like you died… yet just don’t be so mean to old people anymore, you are one yourself now! gee thanks for rubbing it in. Any time 😛 *groan*  i still haven’t become a 5-star chef!! Don’t worry you don’t HAVE to retire you can still get there! i suppose you are right… *mumbles about being an old fogey*

I got a §7 an hour raise for growing an onion for the boss… She likes onions too much if you ask me… Don’t tell her i said that. I can’t… Voice in your head remember.

I got promoted to chef de cuisine and earn §262 an hour. i now only work on friday – sunday same hours as before. i have to get to the top before i die!!!

James just finished baking a cake when he aged up into an   the following conversation.  “lets hope he isn’t too rebellious.” “Yeah that would be annoy-“ “Hey! i heard that!!! Who are you talking too anyway?  MUM! I think Dad’s gone doolally, call the doctors office!” “…Pfft teenagers, no respect…” “hehe have fun.” *James sets tissue box on fire* “Oh crap…  James is a pyromanic. I’d better put a fire alarm in every room.” “You deal with that, i’ll stop Debbie from calling the shrink.” “That would be a good idea.”

Soon after Jeremy aged up too, they look practically identical! I can’t find a good spot for that damn tissue box… how didi it survive the fire???? anyway Kate stole it in the day or so she lived here so i can’t sell it either… …Why do you care so much about a tissue box? Because it reminds me of kate… She has died now come to think of it… Oh… I’d be more worried about those bunny slippers Jeremy is wearing, i know i am… Oh…

Jeremy and James got part-time jobs, Jeremy works as a cash register specialist at the bookstore and James works as a produce quality assessor at the grocery store. Glad to see them contributing!

Hooray!! i made it to 5-star chef check out the fridge i got! I now earn §411 an hour! My dream has come true 😀 I can die happy now 😀 Oh good that gets me a point too. You are saying stuff that doesn’t make sense again. Just ignore it when i do that ok, pretend i have the insane trait. Pretend? OI! Hehehe.

Well i think we will end this chapter here. I will leave the family tree as is until the boys become YA’s. I’m lazy i know but pfft

Chapter 4: Diaper Fillers

Hey its jack again, all sorts of things have happened since i last posted, it’s been well complete and utter CHAOS You got that right! i must have been clicking about as often as is physically possible!. Clucking?  No clicking… OK? Anyway, here is what happened.

James has Aged into a toddler! we have so far managed to teach him to talk and walk. Potty training him is hard as he gives us no warning whatsoever that he needs to go, we should watch him very closly.

Debbie got pregnant again… Oh good if something were to happen to the heir i have a backup That’s cold man. Sorry. Anyway she wasn’t far off from labour in this shot. Somehow i really peeved off my boss… i don’t know what i did, but i went to her house and apologised (oh by the way i have a new boss too, poor old molly died of old age) we then chatted for a bit till her husband said they were all going to sleep, so i left, luckily i had already repaired the damage… whatever it was.

There isn’t much inside, true, but now the house is complete we can upgrade what we do have and get some more things 😀 then we will start building a HUGE and ridiculously expensive mansion, hopefully i will be a 5 star chef by then 😀

Gah i hate the bathroom! literally EVERY DAY something in there breaks! thank god you can’t get electrocuted by a loo! I am definitely going to re-fit this bathroom before we buy the stuff for the en-suite. I bought a good looking book today called Cooking Vol. 3 Yummy and Delicious i never read vol.2 but i was told by the bookstore lady that i didn’t have to read it at my level, in fact i wouldn’t even learn anything from it. the reason i bought it is so i could get a boost to my cooking skills. I’m not doing as well i n the kitchen as i would like, so hopefully i will pick up some tips 😀

Debbie painted a picture of me, isn’t that sweet of her? she’s still not that good yet though, maybe she will do another later? i think i might make this a tradition, every adult heir must get a portrait done!

Jeremy grew up into a toddler, and just after James was potty trained too, Debbie said she wanted to train  Jeremy herself, i don’t mind, though i did enjoy teaching James to talk. James is my favorite so far. So he is the current heir, though this may change in the future!

James aged-up into a child. 😀 Gee it won’t be long until he takes over the family 0.0 Also i got another promotion, i am now an executive chef and i earn §182 an hour. I leave an extra half hour early too which is good. (i now work from 3:00PM to 8:00PM.) better keep working on my cooking, though i feel i’m not far off perfection.

Here is a shot of the whole family in the living room. shortly after Debbie aged into an adult.  i’ll be an elder in 3 days! i don’t wanna be old!!! Well you’ll have to be, i;m not allowed to feed you ambrosia or life fruit

Jeremy grew up into a handsome young chap 😀 now they are both older there is alot less stress on us, i should get that promotion soon! Now i have to update the family tree again, will the work ever stop? just kidding. 😀

I realise this was a rather long chapter but i wanted to get the early childhood phase done in one lump as i write these as i am playing to make sure i don’t forget anything important, hopefully the next one won’t be so long.

Switch to third person?

I am thinking about switching to 3rd person when the heir comes of age (the heir may change) but i am not sure how well it would work. the reason i am doing it is i don’t want it to seem like all the heirs have the same personality (from my writing style) leave a comment and tell me what you think! 😀

edit: i decided i will keep it in first person.

Chapter 3: UH OH!

UH OH! Kate  didn’t tell me she was going to get old this quickly! she turned into an elder a day after the wedding!! oh great she can’t have kids now… looks like you are going to have to break up with her and start again! You know what? i will, i mean *shudder* There is some good news at least. I got promoted again, i am now a pastry chef, and i now earn a whopping §122 an hour! though i leave half an hour earlier than i used to. 4 more promotions to go!

Ok this is a major issue there should be a quick and easy way of telling how far away an npc is from aging up and what age bracket they are in, i can barely tell the difference between YA and A which is a BAD THINGi really hope this is fixed in a patch! it just shouldn’t happen unless i want it to.

Well i broke up with her and kicked the old hag out! I’m going to go looking for a new wife soon Just make sure you find a YA ok, we don’t need this to happen again. You know, i do have a bit of time left, i can still have kids as an elder… Yeah, but that’s just creepy… an old fogey woohooing with an YA or Adult. Yeah i suppose it is, we’ll leave that as a last resort.

I met Debbie in the park, as you can see she is a firefighter. she had to rush off to a fire (she tripped on the flagstones one the way out), but i invited her over the next day. i asked if she wanted to sleep over and she was happy too. She slept on the spare bed. In the morning i attempted to woo her, she must have liked me because a few short hours later we were married!! talk about a hurricane romance hehe. Good i just hope you have a baby soon, i need an heir!

The Next morning Debbie threw up, i wonder if the milk in the cereal was off? Uhm… did you err… “have fun” last night while i wasn’t watching? Yes. Yes we did… Why? Just that… it’s probably morning sickness, i think debbie is pregnant. REALLY!! wow I’m gonna be a father! 😀 I hope its a boy! Me too this is a patriarchy if its a girl you will have to have another! Well making them is fun, so i wouldn’t mind! You may change your mind after the little tyke is born hehe. The toilet clogged afterwards too, and she fixed it up quick smart even though she was still a bit ill, she seemed to get it done quicker than i could have ever fixed it.

Hmm i have noticed that debbie only has 2 traits… weird… doesn’t matter though. also i have heard eating apple containing food increases the chance of a boy so debbie will be living off Apple pancakes for the duration of her pregnancy hehe.

Wow Debbie is getting BIG, it won’t be long!

It wasn’t long at all! i had to rush to the hospital when i heard that Debbie was delivering. when i got there she was coming out with a beautiful baby boy! We named him James. now the fun begins.  Oh and when i got back to work, my boss said that since i was having a kid and the fact i had been working so well i was getting promoted! i am now a sous chef and i earn §138 an hour! i also get mondays off now as well as wednesday and thursday! Wow what an event! i had better update the family tree!

New life has been born. how will the new parents cope? will James grow up well, or will he become a problem child? find out in the next chapter (or chapters depending on how wordy i am)

Chapter 2: Climbing ladders

Hey Its Jack again. a fair bit has happened since my last post!

First i got another Promotion, this time  to Vegetable slicer then i got as §3 an  hour raise, so now i earn §45 an hour. my boss said i need to get better at cooking, i recon i should try to get on her good side too, should make it easier to get another promotion 😀

I met Sue Scotch, she looked rather nice so i decided to introduce myself then i noticed i had to go to work. I invited her over the next day but i found out she had commitment issues, so i won’t even bother chasing her, she can always be a friend though, off to the park again to see if i can find someone nice.

I met Justine Keaton in the library, she was married, which is a bummer, she’s such a nice lady, but we did have a good chat. I’m not having much luck really, it seems like this town is populated by men and old ladies and the ones that are the right age are either taken or nasty… makes it hard when you want a date. 😦 I kept searching that night but i found no other likely ladies so i went to sleep(at home of course).

Yay! i got promoted again, i am now an ingredient taster and i earn §53 an hour.  The souse chef tripped and i caught the (very expensive) dish before it fell, even the stupid tower of bread pieces didn’t fall over. 😀 I’m not exactly sure how the ability to catch stuff makes me qualified for an ingredient taster, but I’m not going to complain! Then i got a §4 raise for figuring out a better way to cook the dinner rolls. now i earn §57 an hour 😀 things are looking up

I’m building a house now, as you can see its nowhere near finished, but even this is better than a lawn. oh and i managed improve the dinner rolls again! i got another $4 raise and now earn §61 an hour! At this rate my house will be finished in no timOh and yes i have bought a few new things such as a shower and a stove. No more unneeded trips to the gym and i can have food that not cold. 😀 Also something i have noticed… my dirty dishes seem to be going into the bin themselves (i have no sink) and the newspaper does the same!! i think i have an anti- poltergeist in my house hehe. Uh that would be me… i would appreciate it if you actually… you know… cleaned up a bit!! Oh… sorry, i’ll uh, get onto that.

I met this gorgeous thing at the park, her name is Kate Pistachio She’s a local maid And she’s single! i invited her over and found out she is a Klepto, so i made sure not to invite her inside, we spent a few hours flirting than making out on the porch, i know i am probably going a bit fast but i do like her, i asked her if she wanted to go steady and she said yes 😀 Oh good i was wondering when you would get yourself a girlfriend i need you to get a wife or my legacy will be rather… short. Well i think i would be willing to have a family with her. I mean she only has one fault i can think of! how many people can you say that about! Only 3 days till my birthday too so i suppose i should settle down.

Hooray! i hot promoted again! i am now a line cook and earn §98 an hour and look at my new uniform! I’m halfway to my dream of being a 5 star chef! Wish me luck! Good luck! I meant Rhetorically. Oh.

I proposed to Kate, she said yes! 😀 i don’t have any pictures of the wedding ceremony because someone forgot to take them! HEY! i was grabbing a drink! you could have waited till i got back! Oh, whatever! Anyway we married later in the day, just the two of us, i couldn’t afford anything else, but Kate said she didn’t mind. The house is coming along great too, most of the first level is installed, now for the second level. good thing it never seems to rain here… or change season for that matter. Yeah that’s because there are no seasons in this version of the game yet. Game? what do you mean Game? Uh… nothing… OK then? Anyway its my birthday tonight, i will officially be an adult, better get cracking at work!! Bye for now!

Gah this is terrible! Kate’ss ltw is to be the girlfriend of 10 different sims! that’s not going to happen! with any luck  i can earn her enough ltw points to change it. else i’m going to have to have an extra kid to get the ltw, of course i will want to do that ltw later but it will have to be with a spare, wish us luck! i’m using too many exclamation points! Chapter 1: Finding your feet

Hi, my name is Jack, Jack Johnson to be prescise.
I’ve just moved into Sunset valley trying to make a name for myself in the Hospitality Industry, i want to becomea 5 star chef someday.
I also hope i find that someone special here, i hail from Pleasantview not much going on its just a small town, though i have heard there are plans for redevelopment. Anyway back to me. Hmm how would i describe myself… thats hard! i suppose i would say i am Handy, a natrual cook, i certainly have a green thumb, i am family oriented and a hopeless romantic.  my favorite colour is irish green, my favorite food is autmn salad and my favorite music genre is indie. 🙂

This is my new home… well its not really a home its just a bunch of furniture on the lawn. hehe i kinda went overboard with thew land, i loved this lot way too much to let it up but i didn’t have any money for a house! oh well once i get a job money will come in soon enough and i will build myself a nice cottage 🙂

I took a taxi into town, to search for a job, there were two places that wanted a kitchen scullion, not a very high paying job but a job nonetheless, i decided to accept the offer from the little corsican bistro, you can just see me there walking out. I start on Monday and i’ll work from 3:p00PM to 9:00PM and i get wendsday and thursday off. Oh and i earn $28 an hour

I decided to get straight into learning to cook, and i quickly got better, then i started to read up on gardening so i could farm my own food, alot cheaper to feed myself that way. 😀

Now i have learned everything i can form those books, but i can’t afford the next ones in the sieries 😦 oh well i will just have to learn from practice 😀

A few days later i managed to get a promotion! YAY! I am a Spice Runner now and i earn $35 an hour, oh and i got a bonus of $336, which i used to buy a shower. 😀 Yay no more mooching off the gym showers 😀

Will jack continue up the career ladder? who knows? but i do know that he hasn’t bothered to try to meet a lady friend yet, been too busy with work i suppose hehe. With any luck things will quieten down and he will find a nice lady to woo in the next chapter. See you then!
